Law Sources Foundation
of the Swiss Lawyers Society
The Law Sources Foundation of the Swiss Lawyers Society is a research institution
that publishes sources of old law up to 1798 in the collection of Swiss law sources.

Retrodigitization

In 1894 the Swiss Lawyers Society decided to edit a collection of law sources which had been created on Swiss territory up to 1798, the collection of Swiss law sources. The collection contains material from the early middle ages until early modern times (1798). Since its inception, the collection of Swiss law sources has developed into a modern, interdisciplinary editorial project. Over 100 volumes, or more than 60,000 pages of source material and comments in all four official languages of Switzerland have so far been published.

The Swiss Law Sources Foundation has now decided to commission the digitization of the published volumes of the collection, and to create the infrastructure required for future digital editions.

The ultimate aim is to make the entire collection of Swiss law sources freely accessible over the Internet.
